Expeditions |

Typcially, my best photography comes as I am out on my own, without a time frame or a pre-planned schedule. However, the times spent out chasing trains with a group have made for some memorable adventures. This EXPEDITION section is intended to preserve those photographic adventures, whether it is an impromptu afternoon trip to the Harbor, or a well planned, day long adventure out on the Needles Sub, or a hike into the backcountry. My first EXPEDITION entry, a family trip to Troy, New York, shares my interest in local history, architecture, and railroading.
Follow the links below the photograph to the right for the images for each specific expedition. Once an image has been selected from the index page, you may navigate forward or backward within the expedition by clicking on the left arrow button '<' (back) or the right arrow button '>'(forward), both are colored in red. Background to each expedition follows in the paragraphs below.

Cattle Drivers
My wife and her sibblings share the ownership of this fine property in the oak covered foothills below the Sequoia National Forest. This home has been a favorite retreat of mine for the past 25 years. The flora, fauna and the surrounding grounds have been the subject of many photographs over the years. This collection of 13 photographs is from the two years during visits to the property to prepare it for sale.
Costa Mesa Project
It seems that I have neglected my own home town as a subject of my photography. I have purposely made an effort to find and record imagery to show-off Costa Mesa from my perspective. Not necessarily the landmarks that Costa Mesa is known for, but rather what I see when I am around town.
Dallas 2008
Over the past few years, General Motors Service Parts Operation has conducted a Powertrain Summit for the GM dealers that are dedicated to selling engines and transmissions and the related hard parts by hosting a summit conference. The 2008 Summit was held in Dallas, Texas at the Hilton in the Lincoln Centre. The highlight of the event was a nickel tour of an engine rebuilding and assembly in nearby Addison, Texas.
