Exposure | Jeff
Wednesday May 03 2006 @ 12:00:00 AM

I haven't really taken advantage of this blog-like space on my website.

Which thought or thoughts to share would be the biggest obstacle in my path to posting here on a regular basis. Journaling is part of my life, but those thoughts written are of a personal variety, hardly the concern of those that might stumble onto this photograhpic website.

Photographically, my thoughts have been on exposure lately, proper exposure. Too much light is better than not enough, or so I have been musing. Digital images thus far seem to prefer about a third more, all the way to a full stop more light. Too much exposure for a night image can make it appar too much like a daytime capture,

Thanks for listening. Feel free to use the contact feature on my info page to confirm or deny, or to extend the conversation further.
Photographic Style Q | Jeff
Saturday October 01 2005 @ 12:00:00 AM

What is photographic style ??

How do you define photographic style ??

What is my style ?? Do I have a style??
Do you have a photographic style ??

Does my subject matter affect my style,
or does my style affect my subject matter ??

~ ~ ~

A photgrapher's perspective and vision can be seen seen, or should be seen, in a repetitive manner (which could be good or bad)...

Does this repetitiveness become his or her style ??

Urban Railroading | Jeff

Urban Railroading
The grit. The down and dirty.
Back doors and Freight doors.
Boxcars and yard switch engines.
Freight door to freight door service.
Hand-thrown switches and bolted rail.
Metropolitain forests of power lines and fences.

Power from My Perspective | Jeff

Power from My Perspective
Sometimes scenic, sometimes gritty and grungy.
Accentuating the tones, textures and colors of railroading.
Bolted rail and hand thrown switches, or hot rail on the high iron.
Up close and personal or distant and just a role player in the scene.
Regardless, of the light or the railroad, it is power from my perspective.
